The Background
I started out as another wanna-be author, writing mildly chilly horror stories, sword and sorcery adventures, poetry and children's rhyming stories. When the self publishing scene opened up, I'd had several stories published through various online webzines, and had just signed with a small publishing company. Two years after that, and two more small publishers, and I decided to go indie.
I published through Smashwords & Amazon KDP to begin with, but settled with Draft 2 Digital & Lulu in the end. I use Kira Morgana and A. E. Churchyard predominantly.
Of course, the rest of my life wasn't exactly static - I had children, their social life, two cats and a Life Partner to deal with. I did a college course in Art & Design then a PGCE to become a Teacher. The teacher stuff brought me back to my love of design and crafting (can't grow up with an ADHD crafter mother without learning to love design and crafting) so I started designing and making Jewellery and sculpting polymer clay. This grew into setting up an Etsy shop... and Teigr Books & Designs was born.
The Pen Names
Kira Morgana is what happens when I think "What if...". It's mostly pure fantasy imagination, tempered with occasional science. The Books range from Children's Rhyming Stories (Pure Fantasy) and D&D inspired stories (High Fantasy) to Alternate Earth stories that use actual science theories as part of the world building (Soft SF).
A. E. Churchyard is Urban Fantasy. It's how I let my Gothic side roam free. It's normally set in an contemporary alternate earth, and you can expect a lot more horror / supernatural / paranormal aspects. Werewolves, and other shifters abound. Vampires happen a lot, as do various other monsters.
Elizabeth C. Ward is Steampunk / Soft SF. This is a new area that I am exploring, so it's still evolving. The first book of the Clocks & Crystals series, "Teacups & Time Travel", will be out in 2026.
E. C. Ward is my main SF books. The first book of the Terrene Empire Series, "Cosmic Shadows", will be out late 2026.
Mandy E. Ward will be my Graphic Novels and illustrated children's books. The actual books are still under development at the moment.

Yes, you heard me correctly, I'm publishing a new book!
As usual it will be published by Teigr Books & Designs (which if you haven't figured it out by now, is me) but there is a decided difference... It won't be published as a Kira Morgana book. It's also not an A. E. Churchyard book - although I have started writing Dark Cities Book 3 recently. More about that another time.
